EDUCATION AND FAITH FORMATION
2010-11 RCIA Information Classes meet Wednesdays at 7:00 PM (until 8:30 PM). 2011-12 Religious Education Information Registration for 2011-2012 Religious Education is ongoing. Forms are due before your child can begin classes. Forms and info are available for: This commission oversees that Religious Education is provided for all members of the parish from birth on. Meets every second Sunday of the month. This commission is a three-year commitment. Vacation Bible School Held each summer in June in affiliation with St. Joseph Parish. Vacation Bible School is a week long program from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. These classes are open to all children in grades Pre-7. This program is operated by volunteers and welcomes everyone who would like to help in any capacity. Religious Education This program meets on Sundays, September to May from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. It is open to all children whose parents are registered members of the parish. Classes are available for children starting in preschool and through their senior year in high school and are taught by volunteers. RCIA This group under the coordination of the Religious Education Administrator, assists individuals on a journey into the Catholic Faith. Classes meet weekly from September to Easter and are available to anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic faith or joining the church. Baptismal Preparation This class meets monthly by appointment. This class is open to all registered parents of the parish that want to have their children baptized into the Catholic Faith. First Reconciliation This class meets in conjunction with Religious Education on Sunday mornings. Children in the second grade are prepared for this sacrament and receive First Reconciliation during advent. First Communion This class meets in conjunction with Religious Education on Sunday mornings. Children in the second grade are prepared for this sacrament and receive First Communion in the spring. Confirmation This class meets in conjunction with Religious Education on Sunday mornings. Students who are spiritually ready are prepared for this sacrament and are confirmed by the Archbishop at SS. Peter and Paul cathedral downtown Indianapolis. RCIC Older children in need of the sacraments of either Baptism, First Communion or First Reconciliation meet with an instructor weekly until they are properly prepared to receive the sacraments on Holy Saturday.
